All Slatbox products are ideal for a clean sterile environment such as kitchens and even hospitals. The bins are made from virgin polypropylene and are approved for clean room environments. The bins are dishwasher safe and can withstand heat sterilization up to 250 degrees. They are also freezer safe to -40 degrees.

5. Securing 1st Flange: Position the treaded insert over the holes and secure with screws. Thread the outer flange onto the threaded insert.
6. Locating the 2nd Flange: Insert the 1-1/4” hangrail into the mounted flange and use a tape measure and a level to find the location for the 2nd flange on the opposite wall.
7. Securing 2nd Flange: Repeat steps 2 and 3 above, then secure the threaded insert. Do not install outer flange at this time.
8. Attaching the Tube: Insert the 1-1/4" diameter round tube into the 1st flange, and slide the outer flange over the tube with threads on the outside. Line the tube up with the 2nd threaded insert and thread the outer flange onto the insert.

4. Attach the First Wall Standard: Position the slotted wall standard over the marked height and align it with the wall studs. Make sure it's level. Use a screwdriver to secure the standard to the wall studs using flat head wood screws.
5. Spacing and Leveling: Depending on your needs, determine the spacing between each standard and mark their positions accordingly. Use a level to ensure each standard is straight and level before securing it to the wall.
6. Install Remaining Standards: Repeat the process for each additional slotted wall standard, making sure they are evenly spaced and level.
7. Attach Shelf Brackets: Select brackets based on shelf depth and load requirements.
8. Place the Shelves: Choose from various materials noted above and secure them to the shelves with shelf rests as needed, depending on material type.

What is the Weight Capacity of Our Wall Standards and Brackets?

Since there are many variables involved, it is not possible to give a single one-size-fits-all answer to this popular question. However, here are four steps to help you decide which store fixture best meets your need.

1. Choose Your Gauge

Capitol Hardware's perimeter hardware line is categorized according to gauge. A-line is our medium-duty collection. B-line, our heavy-duty collection and C-line is our super heavy-duty collection. Each has its own set of standards and matching brackets. The heavier the gauge, the more weight-bearing your display will be.

2. Plan Your Installation

The process in which the wall standard is installed is a huge factor in determining durability and stability. Attaching your standards to wood studs will make your display much stronger than if you attach it to metal studs. We do not recommend attaching standards with just drywall anchors.

Keep in mind longer screws will provide better stability than shorter ones. We recommend at least 2” screws. Also, the amount of space between standards will determine strength as well. The further apart your standards are set, the less weight it will support.

3. Select Your Brackets

Brackets also help determine weight capacity. Two weight-bearing factorsThe larger the bracket is where it connects to the standard, as well as the length of the bracket, are both weight-bearing factors.

4. Consider Your Product Weight

Keep in mind that distribution of weight on the brackets themselves could affect the stability of the display. Obviously, placing items further from the wall creates more stress on the bracket. Make sure you know what you are going to set on the shelves and how it will be laid out in order to help you decide which perimeter hardware line will best suit your need.
